Cool Shades Tape

These shades can be used to accessorize clothing.  The products shots shows that they can be worn as real sunglasses. (See the picture below.)

The warning on the website suggest  that you shouldn’t wear the shades as shown in the pictures:

“It is not recommended that these tapes are applied directly onto the body, as the adhesive may cause irritation to sensitive skin or damage to hair.”

Dell Mini 5 – iPad/iPhone Killer?

Dell entered the tablet marked with the Dell Mini 5. Will it be an iPad or iPhone killer?

We don’t think so. It looks to big to work as a phone, but too small to be a handy tablet… The future will tell.

The iPhone WakeMate

“The WakeMate will analyze your sleep to find the optimal time for you to wake up.”

Will it also make phone calls to reschedule appointments in case you’ve to sleep a bit longer to reach the ‘optimal time to wake up’?

Mosquito Repellent USB Dongle

Plugging this device into any powered USB port should repel most flying insects according to manufacturer. This technology has not, however, received much commercial success… We wonder why…

Nice Cup Bra, a putting mat for the keen golfing lady

It shouldn’t be a surprise that this gadget was ‘invented’ in Japan, the mother land of weird gadgets.

The Nice Cup Bra can be removed and unrolled to create a 1.5m-long putting mat. When the user sinks a putt into one of the cups, a built-in speaker pumps out a congratulatory “Nice shot!”.

New Philips Wake-up Light: will it suck too?

The problem with all alarm clocks that try to wake you gentle by using light that gets brighter is that none of them work!

Dharma

Example from the seventies

More recent alarm clock that failed

More recent alarm clock that failed

The ‘old’ Philips Wake-up Light always woke me like a regular alarm clock: instantly. Another problem was that the buttons used to set the (alarm &) time made a lot of noise, so you’d wake your already deeply asleep partner.

The new Philips Wake-up Light looks promising: slick design and is has an iPhone dock for the heavy sleepers. Furthermore it comes with 20 brightness settings.

Digital Wrench: another misplaced combo

“The Digital Ratchet Monkey Type is one of those things you don’t know you need until the first time you use it. Whether you’re working with autos, bikes, or anything else mechanical, too little torque risks a nut or bolt loosening inadvertently, and too much may damage your threads.”

Trust me: you’ll never need one. Have you ever damaged a nut or bolt or threads? We haven’t. Furthermore the display will always be in the way when working on hard to reach places (and they always are!).

The Video Watch: not a killer combo

They’ll keep trying combining stuff. The latest addition: a 8GB Video Watch. I don’t think it’ll be a success.

If you want to watch a movie or tv series while you’re on the go, why not use that far more suitable device you also carry around all the time: your mobile phone. This video watch may make it big in the “retro nerd scene”.
