The problem with all alarm clocks that try to wake you gentle by using light that gets brighter is that none of them work!
Example from the seventies
More recent alarm clock that failed
The ‘old’ Philips Wake-up Light always woke me like a regular alarm clock: instantly. Another problem was that the buttons used to set the (alarm &) time made a lot of noise, so you’d wake your already deeply asleep partner.
The new Philips Wake-up Light looks promising: slick design and is has an iPhone dock for the heavy sleepers. Furthermore it comes with 20 brightness settings.
“The Digital Ratchet Monkey Type is one of those things you don’t know you need until the first time you use it. Whether you’re working with autos, bikes, or anything else mechanical, too little torque risks a nut or bolt loosening inadvertently, and too much may damage your threads.”
Trust me: you’ll never need one. Have you ever damaged a nut or bolt or threads? We haven’t. Furthermore the display will always be in the way when working on hard to reach places (and they always are!).
They’ll keep trying combining stuff. The latest addition: a 8GB Video Watch. I don’t think it’ll be a success.
If you want to watch a movie or tv series while you’re on the go, why not use that far more suitable device you also carry around all the time: your mobile phone. This video watch may make it big in the “retro nerd scene”.
I’m not sure if this is a gadget or a gross cleaning device. It’s strange, but, I’ve got to admit: inventive. I for one am not going to put a camera in my ear, or in any other cavity.
